Market Takeaway
The July data show a sharp rebound in China’s brown fused alumina exports, driven primarily by a dramatic increase in shipments to the United States.
While total export volume jumped strongly in July, the average export price declined from June. At the same time, shipments to Japan and India weakened, showing a clear divergence among major destination markets.
For buyers and suppliers in the abrasive and refractory industries, the sharp increase in U.S.-bound shipments is worth monitoring closely, as it could influence regional availability, export pricing and supply allocation in the coming months.
