China’s silicon carbide exports continued to grow in April 2026, with both export volume and export value increasing compared with the same period last year and the previous month.
In April 2026, China exported 35,264.00 metric tons of silicon carbide, up 16.53% year-on-year and 5.72% month-on-month. The export value reached USD 30,065,460.00, up 2.97% year-on-year and 6.42% month-on-month.
However, the average export price was USD 852.58 per metric ton, lower than USD 964.85 per metric ton in April 2025, but slightly higher than USD 847.03 per metric ton in March 2026.
From January to April 2026, China exported 137,080.39 metric tons of silicon carbide in total, up 37.50% compared with the same period last year. This shows that overseas demand for Chinese silicon carbide remained active in the first four months of 2026.

Which Markets Imported the Most Chinese Silicon Carbide?
In April 2026, the top three destinations for China’s silicon carbide exports were the United States, Japan, and South Korea.
The United States was the largest destination. China exported 8,160.55 metric tons of silicon carbide to the U.S., up 279.05% year-on-year and 26.90% month-on-month. The average export price was USD 552.06 per metric ton, down 12.93% year-on-year, but up 75.24% month-on-month.

What Does This Mean for Silicon Carbide Buyers?
The April data shows a clear signal: China’s silicon carbide export volume is rising, and demand from key overseas markets remains strong.
At the same time, export prices varied significantly by destination. The U.S. market showed strong volume growth, Japan maintained a higher average price level, and South Korea saw lower volume but higher average prices.
For buyers, this means purchasing decisions should not only focus on price. Product grade, stable quality, delivery schedule, and supplier reliability are becoming more important when planning future silicon carbide purchases.
