It is expected that in June, the price of brown fused alumina abrasives in China may remain strong.
The new time-of-use electricity pricing mechanism will take effect on June 1st, resulting in an approximate difference of 0.036 yuan per kilowatt-hour.
In Sanmenxia, Yichuan, Dengfeng, and Guizhou, brown fused alumina smelting enterprises are experiencing low operational rates, with nearly half of these facilities currently halted. Manufacturers have disclosed that operating a single furnace of brown fused alumina (producing 23-27 tons per batch) incurs a loss of 4,000 to 8,000 yuan. Consequently, some active enterprises have tentatively planned to increase their prices by 180-200 yuan this month.
Due to reduced production of brown fused alumina blocks and price volatility, the output from sand-making enterprises has decreased, leading to a scarcity of medium-fine sand grades F40-F180.
It is anticipated that in June, the prices for brown fused alumina abrasives in China may strengthen.
